June SP1 production update

First off, a huge thank you to everyone who signed up for notifications and placed a preorder for the SP1. We’re incredibly grateful for your support and your patience. We know some of you are already dealing with burn bans, and we’re just as eager to get the SP1 into your hands.

If you haven’t purchased yours, preorders are still open and will be fulfilled in the order they’re received.

This week, we received enough materials to kick off the assembly process. We’re planning to begin production next week, following our standard inspections and prep. We’re also expecting the final components to arrive by the end of next week or early the following, after that, we ship.

We’ve been cautious about giving firm timelines due to the unpredictability of shipping and supply chains over the past few months. That said, we know how delayed this run has been, and we want to keep you in the loop as best we can. With that in mind, we’re aiming to begin shipping the first orders the week of June 30 (fingers crossed!).

Bag update

One quick transparency note: we ran into a hiccup with our production bags. The zippers on the final version don’t hold up well against fine lava rock dust—which wasn’t an issue during prototype testing, but has become clear during production. While the bag still works great for carrying the rest of the SP1 kit, we don’t feel good about sending something we know won’t hold up in the long run.

So here’s what we’re doing: for now, orders will ship with the classic green canvas bag included with the previous version of the Zutto. We’re actively testing a redesigned version that eliminates the zipper issue altogether. If you receive a green bag with your order, don’t worry, you’ll be sent the upgraded version as soon as it’s ready (we estimate this will take a few months). In effect, you're getting a free bag with your preorder!

On a lighter note

We're excited to share that Zutto will be represented by our friends at Korogi. If you haven’t checked them out yet, we highly recommend it (website), they’ve put together an incredibly thoughtful, curated selection of unique camping gear that’s well worth exploring.

Thanks again for sticking with us. We’re close!
